I love making fun, easy, and cost effective gifts using my essential oils. This morning I did the standard Peppermint Sugar Scrub-its a standard because its AMAZING! This afternoon, I wanted to experiment and I remembered a delicious Ginger & Lime brown sugar scrub I made years ago and thought I would mix it up for the season.

I don't measure a thing and for this one I just grabbed oils that I had in the cabinet. I used about 4-5 lbs of light brown sugar and 2-3 cups of a combination of avocado oil and EVOO. The key is to incorporate the brown sugar until it is all moist. The mixture should pack but not be soupy.

This is where the fun begins-creating delicious blends using essential oils. dōTERRA is the way to go FOR SURE!
I added about 40 drops of ginger, 20 drops of Tangerine to give it a sweet and bright twist, to warm up the aroma I added about 10 drops of Cassia. Cassia is similar in aroma to Cinnamon but is less expensive and also seems to be a bit more gentler on the skin. I don't use super spicy oils in things that will go on the skin to prevent any skin sensitivity. Combine everything and then start scooping the scrub into glass jars. I got ALL of mine at the dollar tree and they turned out great!
